The village of Pimperne (pop. approx. 1,000) lies in a chalk valley two miles north of Blandford Forum on the A354 Salisbury road.  Situated on the edge of Cranborne Chase, Pimperne is an old village, recorded in the Domesday book (1086) as Pimpre.
